London moped crime drops 44% in the last year

Moped crime in London has been nearly cut in half in the last year partly due to officers being trained to knock offenders off their bikes. Operation Venice recorded a 44 per cent drop in crime involving mopeds across London since October last year. While front line officers have been handed sprays to forensically tag both suspects and mopeds on the streets of London – specialised officers are authorised to hit riders with their own vehicle to unseat them.
